5 underrated features of Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem

Minecraft’s Mounts of Mayhem game drop was released a few days ago and it has drastically improved the gameplay experience, especially the combat of the blocky world. The update was a big one as it added a lot of new hostile mobs, animal mobs that can be mounted, etc.

While these features definitely stole the show, there were many that flew under the radar. That does not make them not impactful. This article will feature the five most underrated features of Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem game drop and what makes them special.

1) Horses can swim now

For more than a decade, horses in Minecraft could not swim and it was a big deal because transporting these massive mobs from one place to another became quite a challenge if there was a water body in between. However, the developers have finally fixed these issues.

Mounts of Mayhem now gives horses the ability to swim easily so players don’t have to tie their horses to the boat and make the entire process more tedious than fun. Little changes like these improve the gameplay experience by a lot.

2) Horse netherite armor

Something that many players failed to understand was why Mojang Studios did not add netherite horse armor. The horse is a mob that is through the thick and thin of the journey, facing challenging mobs and getting hurt in the way. So it makes sense that it deserves the strongest weapon in Minecraft. But for some reason, that was not the case.

Thankfully, the Mounts of Mayhem update will bring this much-needed feature. The netherite armor can be made by combining a diamond horse armor with the netherite smithing template, very similar to the process of making the normal netherite armor.

3) Spear weapon

We know that the spear weapon is certainly not an underrated feature of this final game drop of the year. However, we have used spears for a very specific purpose; players vs player combat. While fighting mobs in the game was decent, fighting other players was as simple as it could get; spam one attack near the opponent and that was it.

However, things are very interesting with the upcoming spear. Players can now have jousting events, find faster and stronger horses to increase their speed and attack power. There are so many new ways to fight other players and it is certain that the spear will be a favorite weapon in PvP servers.

4) Parched

The parched is the desert variant of the skeleton variant and it shoots arrows that inflict Weakness effect on the player. Having more hostile mobs in the blocky world is certainly a great thing, but the underrated feature here is that the desert biome is finally getting more populated.

The desert is an interesting place with a lot of potential. But it is empty and boring which is such a shame. However, the addition of parched and the camel husk mob is a step in the right direction. Now Mojang Studios have to add more structures to this place to make it close to perfect.

5) Lunge enchantment

The Lunge enchantment is a spear-exclusive enchantment that is going to make this new weapon even more impressive. It makes the player move forward at pace to increase the attack power of the spear. But this comes at a price; players will lose their hunger points and get exhausted in exchange for the boost in attack power.

This is great because while it makes combat more fun, it also prevents any overpowering of a weapon. Players need to balance things out to get the most out of this enchantment. And those were the five most underrated features of the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem update.
