Rohit Sharma has confirmed his availability for Mumbai's opening two matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy starting December 24, 2025. He has accordingly been named in Mumbai's squad for the first two matches of the said tournament.
A report on ESPNCricinfo has confirmed Rohit's availability for the first two matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, with his long-time India teammate Virat Kohli also set to turn out for Delhi.
The former Indian skipper last played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in October 2018. He opened the batting in the semi-finals against Hyderabad that was played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He scored 17 runs in the said game. Mumbai went on to win the match by 60 runs via the VJD method.
Having retired from Tests and T20Is, Rohit's participation in the Vijay Hazare Trophy will be a perfect perparation for the three match ODI series against New Zealand starting 11th January 2026.

Opening the batting with Sharma, Shaw took the Hyderabad bowlers to the cleaners and smashed eight boundaries and two maximums. He scored 61 runs from 44 balls and guided Mumbai to a blazing start, adding added 73 runs for the opening partnership with Sharma.
Riding on Shaw's knock, Mumbai scored 155 runs for the loss of two wickets in 25 overs and emerged victorious.
#3 Shivam Dube

He picked up three wickets against Delhi in the finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 and played a vital role in the team's victorious campaign in 2018.
#4 Dhawal Kulkarni
Dhawal Kulkarni is one of the stalwarts of Mumbai cricket. He has been one of the most consistent performers for Mumbai and contributed to the success of the team for over a decade.
In the semifinal of the 2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Hyderabad, Kulkarni was at this lethal best and picked up the wicket of Mehdi Hassan, while conceding just 39 runs in 10 overs. He picked up three more wickets in the final to guide Mumbai to triumph.
#5 Tushar Deshpande

For the record, Deshpande was the Player of the Match when Rohit Sharma last played a match in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
