San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy cashed in on a five-year, $265 million contract last week.
Purdy was entering the final year of his rookie deal, so the 49ers decided to lock him up long-term before his contract ran out.
The 25-year-old quarterback is viewed as a game manager among many since he plays in one of the best offenses in the NFL with one of the best coaches, Kyle Shanahan.
But Pro Football Focus's John Kosko is high on Purdy, ranking him as the 11th-best quarterback heading into the season.
"Purdy may be a product of the system and surrounding talent, but he’s still led one of the NFL’s most efficient offenses over the past three seasons," Kosko wrote. "His play dipped slightly in 2024 as the 49ers battled injuries across the offensive line and receiving corps, yet he still posted the league’s top success rate over the past two years, alongside a seventh-best 90.0 PFF grade."

Purdy will have a critical season since his favorite target, the last few years, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, was traded this offseason.
If Purdy can't play to the level he did at the end of 2022 and 2023, fans will be very critical of the 49ers, wondering why they gave Purdy a new deal when the team could've waited to see how he performed this season.
