4 Calgary Flames players who could on the move this summer

1 hour ago 2

It is no secret that the Calgary Flames are rebuilding. They traded Nazem Kadri, MacKenzie Weegar, and Rasmus Andersson this season alone, so it is clear the Flames are a team focused on the future.

It would not be the slightest surprise if the Flames continue to trade more of their players during the off-season.

Due to this, let’s look at four Flames who could be on the move this summer.

Blake Coleman, LW/RW

Blake Coleman was a popular name in the rumor mill throughout this season. While the Flames didn’t end up trading him, that has the potential to change this summer.

Coleman is entering the final season of his deal in 2026-27 and undoubtedly has good trade value. In 69 games this season with the Flames, Coleman recorded 20 goals, 15 assists, 35 points, 152 hits, and a plus-12 rating.

Morgan Frost, C

Morgan Frost is another trade candidate on the Flames who could be dealt this summer. Like Coleman, Frost will be in the final season of his contract in 2026-27.

When noting that Frost just scored a career-high 22 goals and recorded 43 points this season, he could be a player the Flames end up selling high on this summer.

Zach Whitecloud, D

Zach Whitecloud has been in the rumor mill since the day the Flames acquired him in the deal that sent Rasmus Andersson to the Vegas Golden Knights.

With Whitecloud being a right-shot defenseman who plays a heavy game and logs top-four minutes, he should generate plenty of interest this summer. This is especially true given that he has a $2.75 million cap hit through the end of the 2027-28 season.

Connor Zary, C/LW

Connor Zary could be another Flames trade candidate to watch this off-season. The 24-year-old forward could use a fresh start after having a tough 2025-26 season, where he had 25 points in 74 games.

Yet, given Zary’s past success and his status as a former first-round pick, it is likely some teams are willing to buy low on him this summer.
