An AEW star recently opened up about his injury, which almost made him hang up his boots. Kyle O'Reilly has been one of the company's top performers. He has been part of Conglomeration. Fans have praised his recent performance against Jon Moxley. He will also be a part of the Blood and Guts match in two weeks.
The former NXT Tag Team Champion was absent from the Jacksonville-based promotion for almost two years. In June 2022, he faced Jon Moxley on Dynamite. Unfortunately, he injured his neck and had to undergo neck fusion surgery. He took almost 21 months to recover from the injury. He also had severe arm issues while recovering.
On AEW Unrestricted, Kyle O'Reilly said he could have retired if his arm hadn't fully recovered.
“The truth is we didn't know how much of my arm would come back, if any of it, so it was a very real possibility. Thankfully, it did come back. It’s not the same. Like, there's a noticeable difference in my arms, but that's beyond the point. What we do is entertainment, and who needs a pesky bicep anyways? It's just getting in the way," he said. Speaking on AEW Unrestricted, Kyle O'Reilly said the former TNT Champion's last match on Collision could be his last contest ever.
“We don’t know where Adam Cole’s at right now but, for the foreseeable future, that was his last match for the time being. You can’t take any of this for granted and you gotta appreciate and love every minute you get in there, you know?" he said.It remains to be seen if the Conglomeration will take down the Death Riders at Blood and Guts.
