AEW Worlds End 2025 is set to take place on December 27 from the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. This will be the last PPV of the year for the Jacksonville-based promotion. Therefore, Tony Khan has booked a stacked card of matches for the show. Given that this is the last PPV of the year, fans will expect something big to happen at the show. Therefore, here are three things that need to happen at AEW Worlds End 2025.
#3. Konosuke Takeshita must become the new Continental Champion
Konosuke Takeshita has made it to the semi-finals of the Continental Classic Tournament, where he will face Kazuchika Okada. Okada managed to retain his title in last year's tournament. However, Takeshita has been on a roll in the last few months and must be booked to defeat Okada. The Rainmaker losing in the semi-final will make the tournament final more interesting since there will be a new champion crowned.
Takeshita should then defeat the winner of the Kyle Fletcher and Jon Moxley match to become the new Continental Champion. This will also help further the storyline and growing animosity between Takeshita and Okada, which could eventually lead the former to break free from The Don Callis Family and turn babyface.
#2. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage must confront FTR
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage were in the middle of a feud with FTR when the Rated R Superstar had to take time off TV to go and film for Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
FTR will be defending their AEW World Tag Team Titles against Bang Bang Gang in a Chicago Street Fight. After this match, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage should show up to confront Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, thereby renewing their rivalry.
Copeland and Cage could also challenge FTR for the tag titles and eventually take the belts off them.
#1. MJF should win the AEW World Championship
The AEW World Championship match at Worlds End 2025 was originally supposed to be a three-way match between Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland. However, Maxwell Jacob Friedman made a sudden return during the official contract signing for the match and cashed in his guaranteed World Title shot to add his name to the match.
MJF is the wild card heading into this match since all three other participants were not expecting him to be in the bout. Additionally, The Salt of the Earth is the most over star on the AEW roster, and Tony Khan should capitalize on his popularity by making him champion at the same PPV where he lost the title two years ago.
