2 huge free agency decisions set to impact Bills' Josh Allen

1 hour ago 2

There's no denying the Buffalo Bills will be viewed as a Super Bowl contender in 2026, and that is largely due to Josh Allen.

In his prime, and coming off another good regular season, now with Joe Brady as his head coach, the idea is that the offense will be what powers the Bills through the season.

But that is only if it remains intact, and it might not.

What do we mean by that? Well, Allen's offensive line could be gutted in free agency, as center Connor McGovern and guard David Edwards are set to test the market.

Edwards has a market value of nearly $20 million APY per Spotrac.com, and McGovern's is $16.3 million APY. That's a lot of money to be tied up in two offensive linemen.

But if the Bills want to keep this offensive juggernaut rolling, they might have to pay up.

Bills face defining offseason

I'll tell you one thing. General manager Brandon Beane will earn his money this offseason, and he's under more pressure than most after his odd promotion.

The Bills need a No. 1 weapon for Allen, which won't be cheap, and then we add in McGovern and Edwards. Suddenly, that is a lot of salary cap room that will need to be made if Beane wants to make all three moves happen.

So, while the Bills are in their Super Bowl window, what Beane and the front office do in the coming weeks and months will tell us a lot about Buffalo's chances in 2026.

Yes, it will be around the mark because of Allen, but if no No. 1 weapon comes in and Josh has a new center and guard, the Bills' outlook in 2026 might look vastly different.
