AEW star Jon Moxley has been in the news since a spot in his ''I Quit" match with Darby Allin went viral at WrestleDream 2025. The two wrestlers, who have become known for having extreme spots during their matches, have been involved in a heated rivalry for several weeks now.

They met each other once again in the main event of last month's WrestleDream event. In a controversial spot that went viral, Jon Moxley dunked Darby's head in a fish tank in an attempt to drown the wrestler. This spot has drawn a lot of criticism since then, but WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long has leaped to Moxley's defense.

Long was talking on a recent episode of The Wrestling Time Machine on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, where he reinforced the fact that professional wrestling is scripted. He said that the wrestlers are prepared for what's going to happen in the ring, and if they're okay doing the spots, then there's no problem in going ahead with them.

"I really don't know because with professional wrestling, you know, there's, there's no telling what might happen. And then people have to understand, too. Well, a lot of people don't know, but you know, everything is scripted here. You know what I mean? So guys know what's going to happen even before they get out there. So if they think it's okay in the back, they've discussed it. They've maybe rehearsed it. I don't know. And if they think it's okay, then go with it." Long said.

Darby Allin eventually overcame Moxley in the main event and came away with the victory. In other notable matches from the event, Mercedes Mone defeated Mina Shirakawa for the Interim ROH World Television Championship and broke Ultimo Dragon's record of holding 10 titles simultaneously. There were no other title changes on the night, as every other wrestler that defended their title came away with the win.
