Triple H once threatened to fire a major WWE star after issues with his attitude. The Game has been credited with revamping the promotion's developmental brand after he was handed NXT duties.

One of his biggest stars during the early days of NXT was Seth Rollins. The Visionary had come into the promotion after a strong stint with Ring of Honor and was the first-ever NXT champion. However, things could have gone very differently for the former World Heavyweight Champion.

In an interview on Mohr Stories, Rollins reveals he nearly got fired from the company during his early days in 2010.

He said having recently held the ROH World Championship and having a very different wrestling style led to him being very combative with people backstage. He said he was close to being fired despite his in-ring skills.

"I was close. I was on the chopping block. They told me, 'Yeah, one more (incident) and you're gone. One more. 'I don't care how good you are. You're not going to get a chance to show the world. We will fire you,'" he said.

Rollins revealed that he had this conversation with Triple H, where the Cerebral Assassin warned him about his future in the company.

"I had that conversation with Triple H. I was sitting in Full Sail University. I remember sitting in the back, and he was like, 'Hey, I don't care how good you are. You're being difficult with this guy. This guy thinks you're difficult,'" he added.

The Architect said that the guy was Terry Taylor, who worked as a trainer in NXT. Rollins mentioned that HHH told him

"He (Terry Taylor) and I butted heads quite a bit when he got down to Florida. And you know, Triple H didn't appreciate it, and my attitude wasn't appreciated, and it was like, 'if one more negative report comes back, we will fire you,'" he mentioned.

Notably, Rollins turned out to be one of WWE's valuable assets under the tutelage of HHH.

Seth Rollins says Triple H did not understood his style

During the conversation on Mohr Stories, Seth Rollins said his wrestling style was quite different than what was common in WWE.

He said he believes Triple H didn't understand his style, which focused more on high-impact moves and was faster. He said since The Game was the head of developmental, there was pushback from him.

Rollins was insistent on getting his chance, but this put him in a position where he was butting heads with people backstage.
