"You're enemies aren't immigrants" - Francisco Lindor's wife Katia supports Zohran Mamdani with powerful message

Francisco Lindor's wife, Katia, has always made her political stance clear with her public statements. Known for her fierce criticism of Donald Trump and the political right, Katia has now shown support for Zohran Mamdani, the current mayor-elect of New York City.

Mamdani, the Democratic nominee, defeated Independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa to become the first Indian-American, first Ugandan-American, and first Muslim mayor-elect of New York.

On Tuesday, Mamdani shared an Instagram post, encouraging NY citizens to vote. Lindor's wife re-shared the video post on her Instagram story on Wednesday.

"Supporting politicians who fight for immigrants, artists, workers, and everyone who deserves a dignified life - isn't against my interests, even if I'm in a different economic position, My well-being is tied to the well- being of others. When humanity thrives, we all do. Choosing kindness, equity, and solidarity isn't radical-it's what keeps us human," she captioned the post.

Katia also shared stern words for those who don't understand the greater purpose. Pointing finger at them as the problem, Lindor's wife said she doesn't have any qualms about sharing money or resources so that no one is crushed by rent, healthcare costs, or poverty.

"Community isn't about hoarding, it's about healing. We rise together, or not at all. P.S. Your enemies aren't the immigrants- they're the one-percenters hoarding the wealth while leaving you without basic needs," she concluded the caption.

Since 2021, Mamdani has represented the Queens neighbourhood of Astoria in the New York State Assembly. Incidentally, the Mets' ballpark, Citi Field, is located in Queens.

Zohran Mamdani's presence in the 2024 New York mayoral race attracted interest from across the globe. Even the US President Donald Trump openly expressed his disinterest in seeing Mamdani succeed.

Mamdani faced severe accusations of being a terrorist-sympathizer, antisemite, and radical communist. However, no baseless accusations mattered in the end.

Shortly before the election, Mamdani shared a video post on his Instagram, highlighting religious harmony. Francisco Lindor's wife, Katia, reshared it on her Instagram story the next day.

"Cities thrive not on fear but empathy, on cooperation not division.That’s the NYC we know and love. It has found expression in this movement. And it is rising up at the ballot box today," Mamdani captioned the post.

In the clip, Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, Reverand Charles Galbreath, and Imam Khalid Latif spoke of the need to be united. All showed utter faith in Mamdani to lead New York City.
