“This hasn’t been brought up in long time”: Jason Kelce calls for action after mom Donna reveals about her unfulfilled career before motherhood

Jason Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, surprised everyone on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast on Wednesday by saying she trained to be a pilot before having kids. After hearing this, Jason Kelce said he wants to help her fly again.

In a teaser for Wednesday’s episode, Donna said:

“I did learn how to be a pilot before I had children. I actually went up and flew a plane.” Kylie was shocked and said, “You did not.”

Donna replied, “Yes, I did.”

Donna explained that she loved flying, but it was expensive.

“You want to have children and it was really expensive, so I had to stop,” Donna said. “Ed and I decided, well, we should probably get a house and start having kids. So I did this way before the kids were even born.”

Kylie was amazed and asked:

“That is so cool. Does Jason know that?”

Donna said:

“I don't know if he knows it or not. I don't know if I've ever really brought it up.”

After the clip was posted on Instagram, Jason Kelce commented:

“Mom has told me this before, I knew she never completed the training, but she got fairly far along. But this hasn’t been brought up in a long time, We gotta get her back in the pilot’s seat!!”

His comment got over 9,000 likes. Kylie then joked with Donna:

“But you saved it for this [Not Gonna Lie Podcast] right now. There you go. Not the other podcast [New Heights].”

As per her LinkedIn profile, Donna Kelce worked in the banking sector for more than 30 years. She retired in 2021 as a senior vice president at Truist. Before that, she was a vice president at Key Community Development Corporation.

Donna studied at Ohio University for her bachelor’s degree. Next, she completed her MBA from Baldwin Wallace University.

Jason Kelce's mom Donna Kelce reveals younger son Travis Kelce was a "rule breaker"

Speaking on Kylie Kelce’s "Not Gonna Lie" podcast on Wednesday, Donna Kelce also opened up about raising her two sons, Jason and Travis Kelce. She shared that Travis was more difficult to handle than Jason.

“With Jason, he would tend to listen and follow the rules," Donna said. "Travis isn't a rule follower.”

She then shared a frightening memory involving Jason and a knife.

One day, someone shouted:

“Oh my God, he’s got a knife!”

Donna instantly knew it was Jason. He was the only one tall enough to reach the cabinet where she kept sharp things out of reach.

"I ran out there. I only had my shorts on and a bra. I literally ran out. And then everybody was clapping on the street," she recalled.

After which, she saw Jason Kelce throwing knives in the air while Travis watched.

“I’m like, ‘Oh my God, they could have went right through his head,’” Donna said. “But yeah, that was a scary time. That was a scary one.”

Later, both boys became NFL stars. Jason played as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, while Travis became a standout tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
