Yankees urged to consider 'any move' in trade update involving Tarik Skubal, Aaron Judge

Without Aaron Judge in the lineup, the New York Yankees are not a strong offensive team. 

In recent weeks, they've been one of the worst teams in baseball with runners in scoring position. It's a glaring problem they'll need to fix before the postseason. 

Judge, whose timetable from a fractured rib is undetermined until he undergoes further imaging, truly is the backbone of the organization. 

General manager Brian Cashman should consider all options at the trade deadline. His focus should be to improve the lineup, but no stone should be left unturned. 

The Athletic's Katie Woo, Will Sammon, and Patrick Mooney wrote Thursday that mindest could help the Yankees land Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers. 

Should Yankees pursue Skubal trade? 

"The Yankees, despite their struggles without Aaron Judge, should consider any move that bolsters their World Series odds," The Athletic trio wrote.

"(Assuming Judge returns, at least.) The Yankees boast a strong rotation featuring Gerrit Cole, Cam Schlittler, Max Fried and Ryan Weathers, but Carlos Rodon remains out with an elbow injury," they added. 

Adding Skubal, the back-to-back AL Cy Young Award winner, to a rotation with Cole, Schlittler, Fried, and Rodon would be a scary sight for opposing teams.

Of course, the Yankees would compete with several other contenders for Skubal. 

If the Tigers decide to sell, they'll likely only accept an offer with a handful of prospects and one to two Major League-ready players. 

Would the Yankees be willing to make that deal for an impending free agent?
