Yankees finally get good news on Aaron Judge amid injury recovery

The New York Yankees had an active trade deadline, trying to resolve their shaky offense, acquiring Luis Garcia Jr. from the Washington Nationals and Heliot Ramos from the San Francisco Giants.

Those are two nice additions, but the Yankees still need more offensive firepower. An easy way to get that is by getting all of their injured players back. One of those players, Aaron Judge, has been out for a long time now.

However, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Aaron Boone revealed some good news on Judge for the first time in a while that finally should give Yankees' fans some hope.

"Aaron Judge underwent scans and has been cleared for light activity, including outdoor running and upper body resistance, Aaron Boone said," Hoch reports.

While this update might not seem like much, getting Judge into the next step of his return to play is a massive development for the Yankees.

He's been on the injured list for a long time this season, last playing a game on May 31, well over two months ago now.

Before his injury in 59 games, Judge had 2.1 bWAR with 17 home runs, 38 RBIs, a .907 OPS, and a 151 OPS+. Getting his bat back in the lineup would be a major development for this Yankees team this season.

There are still some questions over when he could actually return, as he's not yet cleared to return to baseball activities.

But this is a promising first step that finally gets the ball moving on a potential return from injury for Judge this season.
