Yankees Aaron Judge offers 1-word response on Jarren Duran’s fan incident

The New York Yankees are off to a good start this season, having gone 17-12 through their first 29 games and risen to the top of the American League East.

Elsewhere in the division, an incident took place on Sunday at Progressive Field during a game between the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Guardians.

A fan in the stands made a comment towards outfielder Jarren Duran about his suicide attempt in 2022, which came to light in the recent Red Sox documentary.

Fortunately, Duran has received an outpouring of support from people around the league, even on the Yankees roster. Aaron Judge recently spoke on the matter and professed his support for Duran.

"Definitely," Judge said. "You can boo and say whatever you want about performance, but what happened in Cleveland is taking it too far."

What happened in Cleveland was certainly a shocking moment, and the Guardians made the correct decision to remove the fan from the stands.

Duran's suicide attempt is nothing to make to light of and is a very serious situation. The Red Sox outfielder has been through a lot, and it takes strength to be able to fight through mental health struggles.

But it is good to see Judge and others around Major League Baseball show their support for Duran. It's important to remember that players are humans that go through their own struggles on a daily basis.

The two-time AL MVP is off to a hot start this season, slashing .405/.496.,703 with eight home runs, 28 RBI and a 1.199 OPS. But Judge has always been a class act and is showing it again with his support of Duran.
