John Cena recently had a secret visit to a very special place. A WWE veteran opened up about this visit.
Outside of WWE, Natalya and TJ Wilson have a wrestling academy called The Dungeon 2.0, where they train the next generation of wrestlers. Several WWE stars have also been to The Dungeon to train with Natalya. John Cena was the latest to visit The Dungeon, where he got to interact with several aspiring wrestlers. It was his way of giving back to the industry.
During a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Natalya finally opened up about Cena's visit to The Dungeon. She revealed that The Last Real Champion got in touch with her and offered to come talk to some of her students so that he could share all the information he had.
"John sends me a text, and he's like, 'Hey Nattie, what time are you guys training this week?' I said, 'John, if you wanna get some reps or get in the ring, if you want privacy, I'll just give you a key and you can come to The Dungeon on your own or whatever you need, we can help you, we can set up a private time.' He was like, 'No no no no no - I wanna come and I wanna talk to all of your students, I wanna share all the information I can share, I just wanna give back, I wanna be there, pay it forward sort of thing. I just wanna be there.'"Natalya recalled that Cena showed up 15 minutes early, introduced himself to everybody, and shook everyone's hand. She also noted he gave a masterclass for hours because he wanted to help everyone succeed.
"So he shows up at The Dungeon 15 minutes early, which I was like, 'Okay, this is awesome.' He's not a diva. He introduces himself to everyone, shakes everyone's hand, he's super polite. He gave a masterclass in every single thing that he could give. He gave us hours and hours of his time, and he was like, 'I just wanna help everyone succeed. I want you guys to make it. I wanna share what helped me make it. The good, the bad, the mistakes, the triumphs.' It was wild." John Cena is one of the most humble WWE stars. Therefore, after his interaction with the students in The Dungeon, he reached out to Natalya and TJ Wilson with an interesting text.
During the same podcast episode, Natalya revealed that John Cena sent her and TJ Wilson a text after his visit to The Dungeon, asking them for feedback on anything he needed to improve and get better. She also noted that Cena's presence in The Dungeon lit everybody up.
"Afterwards, John sent TJ and I a text and said, 'If there's anything I could have done to improve, if there's any feedback you guys can give me to be better, if you have anything just tell me. I just wanna be the best I can be.' This is a guy that is the greatest professional wrestler of our generation. He is asking us what he can do better. Everybody was just wrestling with their entire heart and soul. It was so cool because John lit us all up. He changed our perspectives and made everything better. He made our lives better." [H/T WrestleTalk on X]It's good to see that John Cena is trying to give back to the industry that made him who he is today.
