WWE has decided to suddenly end a top star's contract with the company, and Chelsea Green has decided to help him out. He has since started a GoFundMe and the star has donated to it.
Ridge Holland's time with WWE came to an end all of a sudden soon after he was injured while competing in a TNA match while representing them. It was far from his first injury, but it also meant that he would be missing months of action, with at least seven months of action missed. In a controversial move by WWE, the company then told the star that his contract would not be renewed. With his contract coming to an end in mid-November, this meant that the star would be missing six months due to injury, and would also be without pay during this time.
While the company would continue to pay for his rehabilitation, this left him in a difficult position, and he made his feelings known on social media, very saddened by the situation. Unfortunately, his making matters public on social media while disparaging the company was not taken well by those within WWE. His contract was immediately cut, days earlier than it was originally supposed to be.
Now, a GoFundMe has been started for the star, with him asking fans for help to survive the period he will have to go without any pay. Chelsea Green, Jinder Mahal, and others have decided to donate to it as well. Green has in fact taken on a commitment to pay $1,000 every month.
The GoFundMe also explained how the star took a paycut to go to NXT to build himself up, and that was also affecting them.
"Despite being injured at work, he was hired as a 1099 contractor — meaning he’s not eligible for workers’ compensation, sick leave, or any support from the employer. Since the injury, the company has offered to pay for medical expenses BUT No pay. No new contract. The family has already endured a 55 % pay cut last year and have done everything possible to reduce their expenses."Chelsea Green has taken on a monthly commitment to support the former WWE star
Chelsea Green has pledged $1,000 to the GoFundMe on a monthly basis. Other familiar names on the list saw Kyle Fletcher donate $1,000.
Jinder Mahal has also donated the same amount already. At this time, Nick Jackson has also donated money to the fund.
A total of $6,215 has been raised already at the time of writing this article, coming to 10% of the goal, although only $1,000 is counted as Chelsea Green's donation so far, with the monthly commitment meaning that she will keep adding to it.
