"Dom left buddy in the dust," "Dom is better in every way" - Fans react to comparisons between Dominik Mysterio and major AEW star

A top AEW star and former champion was recently compared to budding WWE superstar Dominik Mysterio on social media. Fans are seemingly of the view that the Judgment Day member has surpassed the All Elite Wrestling talent in question, who is none other than Hook.

Dominik Mysterio is quickly solidifying his place as one of the most engaging competitors on WWE's current programming. The 28-year-old retained his Intercontinental Championship against Rusev and Penta in a triple-threat match earlier this month at Saturday Night's Main Event, and days later on Monday Night RAW came face to face with his father, the legendary Rey Mysterio, who managed to get the upper hand on his son after their promo exchange and subsequent brawl.

Similar to how Dominik has followed in his father's footsteps inside the squared circle, Hook, the son of ECW and WWE legend Taz, has also been pursuing his own pro-wrestling journey in AEW since 2020. The former and last-ever FTW Champion is regularly featured on the Tony Khan-led company's programming alongside many of its top names. A social media user recently compared the two stars on X/Twitter, sparking a debate as to which of them is better.

Fans have since jumped on to the platform to share their opinions on the subject, with a huge number of comments favoring "Dirty" Dom over The Cold Hearted Handsome Devil. One user even suggested that Hook should cross over to WWE, while another argued that AEW has not properly developed the New York-native as a talent the way WWE developed Dominik over the past few years.

Dom left buddy in the dust

Dom is better in every way than Hook and is more over with fans.

Hook just need to go to the WWE

How are Joe and Hobbs supposed to be intimidated by this?

At one time they were on the same level but Dom kept learning and improving and Hook is still the same as he was when we first saw him. WWE have done a lot for Dom's character with Rhea and Liv & Judgement Day, Tony has done nothing for Hook, his character or ring work.

Sorry but he just doesn’t have it.

Hook is currently aligned with Eddie Kingston, and is feuding with his former mentor and trios partner, Samoa Joe.

Hook was in a title match this week on AEW Dynamite

Flanked by Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata, Samoa Joe appeared this week on AEW Dynamite to confront Tony Schiavone over the role he played in helping Adam Page ambush The Opps last week. Although initially outnumbered, the Men's World Champion found reinforcements in the form of Hook and Eddie Kingston. The 26-year-old up-and-comer then challenged The Samoan Submission Machine and his teammates to defend their trios championships against him, The Mad King and The Cowboy. The bout, which took place as the main event of the show, ended with The Opps retaining their belts after Hobbs submitted Hook with a torture rack.

It remains to be seen what lies next for Hook on AEW programming after this Wednesday's loss.
