Jacob Fatu has remained away from WWE television since the October 17, 2025, episode of SmackDown, where a backstage attack angle pulled him out of action. The star has been sidelined due to medical clearance issues tied to major dental treatment, with fans waiting for his return to the blue brand ahead of the Royal Rumble.

While Fatu has been sidelined with health issues, the star has been removed from the updated cover image on the company's website. Not only him, but major names like Seth Rollins, John Cena, Bianca Belair, Randy Orton, and more were removed from the poster. On the other hand, former United States Champion Ilja Dragunov, AJ Styles, Drew McIntyre, and more were added as their replacement.

Jacob Fatu being removed from the poster ends up being quite surprising, especially after rumours of his potential return early in 2026. With the Royal Rumble around the corner, the star could leave the world stunned by making his comeback at the PLE, to make headlines all around the world. To enhance the element of surprise, WWE could have removed him from the poster, making fans feel that the star is nowhere near a comeback. Time will tell what the company has in store for the star next.

Jacob Fatu could make his return in the Undisputed WWE Championship match

While the Royal Rumble could be one of the biggest ways for his comeback, the Samoan Werewolf could also interfere in the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes, a stipulation for which is yet to be announced.

Fatu could make his comeback and reveal Drew McIntyre as the mystery attacker who took him out of action, costing him the title match. Time will tell what the company has in store for both stars heading into the new year.
