Welcome to Sportskeeda Wrestling's WWE News and Rumor Roundup for 6th November 2025, where we will cover some of the most interesting happenings in the world of sports entertainment. In today's edition, we'll cover a former champion's abrupt release, the possibility of John Cena winning another title, and Becky Lynch's recent milestone.
Let's get started:
#5. Will John Cena win another World Championship in WWE?
Earlier this year, John Cena made history with Travis Scott's help when he defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas for the Undisputed WWE Championship. With the win, The Franchise Player became a 17-time world champion in the promotion and broke Ric Flair's record.
According to Fightful Select, a discussion was held to put the title on John Cena following Seth Rollins' injury, making him an 18-time World Champion before his retirement. Unfortunately, those plans never came to fruition, and Cena's last opponent will now be determined through a tournament.
#4. WWE teases 11-time world champion's return
John Cena's list of rivals consists of some of the best WWE Superstars of all time, including Edge. The Rated R Superstar left the Stamford-based promotion in 2023 and dedicated his post-retirement career to All Elite Wrestling following his debut at WrestleDream in Washington.
Recently, Adam Copeland went on a hiatus from the Jacksonville-based promotion, and many suspected that he would return to WWE for a match against The Franchise Player.
After the 'The Last Time is Now' announcement, the company, on one of their YouTube channels, teased Edge's return when they uploaded his entire rivalry with the 17-time World Champion.
#3. Becky Lynch crosses a major milestone on WWE RAW
Earlier this year, Becky Lynch went after the Women's Intercontinental Championship and eventually defeated Lyra Valkyria to win the title. After winning the title, The Man continues to keep the title's legacy by becoming a defending champion on the red brand.
Recently, Big Time Becks made history, becoming the longest-reigning Women's Intercontinental Champion in the promotion's history and surpassing 150 days as champion. Despite her ongoing rivalry with Maxxine Dupri, the multi-time Women's Champion has added another accolade to her performance career.
#2. WWE turned down Jimmy Uso's pitch
Jimmy Uso became one of the most despised names on the brand in 2023 when he cost his brother a shot at Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. Big Jim also broke into singles competition and eventually had a one-on-one match against Jey Uso at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia and lost.
Speaking on the Cheap Heat podcast, the 8-time Tag Team Champion revealed that he pitched an idea where Main Event Jey would've squashed him easily at The Grandest Stage of Them All. However, the management rejected Uso's pitch, as they didn't want the match to end in a one-sided fashion.
#1. WWE abruptly released Ridge Holland from his contract - Reports
A few weeks ago, Ridge Holland revealed that the Stamford-based promotion won't renew his contract in November 2025, and he will part ways. In the weeks leading up to November, Holland criticized the company for not paying him until he recovers from his injury. While the promotion will cover his rehabilitation costs, any other expenses would be on the star.
This put a financial burden on the former NXT Tag Team Champion, and Holland used social media to express his concerns. According to Fightful Select, Ridge Holland was terminated from his contract, meaning he was released a few days before his contract ended in mid-November.
The abrupt release occurred after the former NXT Tag Team Champion criticized the company in public. Moreover, he won't be paid from now until the original end of his contract. However, the company will continue to pay for his rehabilitation. It'll be interesting to see what's next for Ridge Holland.
