WWE Holiday Tour Results: 21-year veteran challenges for title; Cody Rhodes faces ex-partner in Street Fight; New team confirmed? (Detroit, 12/30)

WWE is currently on its holiday tour. Several big-name stars, including Cody Rhodes, were in action at a recent live event in Detroit.

A new team might have been confirmed during the latest house show in Detroit as Sami Zayn teamed up with R-Truth and Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat Grande Americanos (El Grande Americano, Rayo Americano, and Bravo Americano). This isn't the first time Zayn, Truth, and Nakamura have teamed up. In fact, the trio has been teaming up in almost every other live event on the company's holiday tour. This could very well be a confirmation of a new team, or they might have aligned just for the holiday tour.

On the other hand, Damian Priest continued his rivalry with Aleister Black. The Archer of Infamy once again reigned supreme against the former AEW star. Meanwhile, Carmelo Hayes locked horns with 21-year veteran The Miz with the United States Championship on the line. The A-Lister has been in the pro wrestling world since 2004. Although he is one of the most decorated stars in the company, he failed to capture the US title against Hayes.

The Wyatt Sicks also continued their feud with Solo Sikoa's MFT. Both teams put on an incredible display of action inside the ring, but the bout ended in Uncle Howdy's stable's favor.

In the main event of the show, Cody Rhodes once again faced Drew McIntyre in a Street Fight. For those unaware, The American Nightmare and The Scottish Warrior have a rich history in World Wrestling Entertainment as they have teamed up on several occasions earlier in their careers. The two have even won the Tag Team Championship.

However, in recent times, McIntyre has become one of Rhodes' biggest enemies. The two are set to lock horns in a Three Stages of Hell Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship on the January 9, 2026, edition of SmackDown in Berlin, Germany.

It will be interesting to see if Drew McIntyre will finally dethrone Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion on the January 9, 2026, edition of SmackDown.
