“Move your feet”: Reggie Miller brutally slams Luka Doncic’s defense on slow-mo replay showing Lakers star’s lack of effort

Reggie Miller slammed Luka Doncic's poor defensive efforts while on commentary in the Lakers' 128-106 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. The NBA legend criticized the Lakers superstar for displaying no defensive effort in Jalen Duren's drive in the second quarter

Miller showered Doncic with sarcasm while reviewing a replay. In the video, Duren drove towards the basket while Doncic raised his hands to ask for a potential foul on Jake LaRavia, who was positioned ahead of Duren.

"Look at Luka right here. It’s OK, Luka, to move your feet a little bit over and help out. What does he do? He just throws up his hands. This would be frustrating for me," Miller said.

Defense has always been a criticized aspect of Luka Doncic's game. The Lakers star is an offensive juggernaut, but his defensive contributions have always been on the lower end.

Doncic has a defensive rating of 115.6 while averaging 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. On the offensive end, the Lakers superstar is having an MVP-caliber season. He is averaging 33.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game on 46.2% shooting.

Skip Bayless grills Luka Doncic for Lakers' 11th loss

Reggie Miller wasn't the only analyst criticizing Luka Doncic on Tuesday. Skip Bayless blamed the Lakers superstar for his team's 11th loss of the season. He expressed his frustrations with Doncic in an X post on Tuesday.

"Lakers blown out at home by Pistons mostly because of Luka's killer inefficiency: 8 turnovers, 3-11 from 3. LEADS NBA IN TURNOVERS. 2nd in NBA in 3 attempts, yet only a pathetic 31% from 3. Just hard to overcome Luka. You miss this, Dallas???" Bayless tweeted.

Bayless questioned the Mavs fan for missing Luka Doncic following the star guard's inefficient shooting from the 3-point range. Doncic shot 3 of 11 from the 3-point line against the Pistons.

JJ Redick has been avidly taking shots at his players for the team's repeated losses. He made bold comments about the players not caring enough following the Lakers' 119-96 loss to the Rockets on Christmas Day. The Lakeshow lack a strong defensive presence in the lineup as two of their main players, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, are not the best choices on the defensive side of the floor.

The Lakers (20-11) fell to fifth place in the Western Conference Standings after Tuesday's loss. They started the season hot, winning 7 of their first 10 games, but are 1-4 in their last five games.
