LSU coach Lane Kiffin is not being allowed to coach Ole Miss in its maiden College Football Playoff run this season, despite being a major factor in the Rebels' qualification for the playoffs. Nonetheless, Kiffin is still pleased with the way the Rebels' coaching staff helped the team record a 41-10 win over Tulane in the first-round playoff contest on Saturday.
On Sunday, Kiffin shared an Instagram story, praising Ole Miss' assistant wide receiver coach Patrick Carter.
"Congrats PC. WRs looked the best they have all year by far!!!!" Kiffin wrote on his IG story, with Carter in the picture.•

NCAA Football: Louisiana State Head Coach Lane Kiffin Introductory Press Conference - Source: ImagnEven though Lane Kiffin is not coaching Ole Miss in the playoffs, he is still benefiting monetarily from the team's success. Kiffin was not allowed to coach Ole Miss because he took up the coaching job at LSU after the Egg Bowl.
According to reports, Kiffin earned $250,000 after the Rebels beat Tulane in their first playoff game. However, the money is coming from Kiffin's new LSU contract clause.
Kiffin first earned $150,000 for getting Ole Miss a first-round playoff appearance. His cheque is only going to get fatter if the Rebels make a deep run in the CFP.
If Ole Miss beats Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day, it will add another $500,000 to Kiffin's bank account for reaching the semifinal.
If the Rebels win the national title, Kiffin could earn upto $1 million in bonuses.
During his six years at Ole Miss, Kiffin compiled a 55-19 record, including a 32-17 SEC record.
