Will Wade expresses displeasure about NC State in the First Four

1 hour ago 4

Ahead of tonight’s First Four game between Texas and NC State, Wolfpack head coach Will Wade expressed his displeasure with being placed in Dayton to play their first game.

Looking back about a month, the Wolfpack were sitting nowhere near a First Four matchup and well in the field of 64. They sat with an 18-7 record before losing six of their last seven games to finish the regular season. They also went 1-1 in the ACC tournament, beating Pitt in the first round before Virginia eliminated them a day later.

Hurting their case even more are two quad four losses in ACC play to 11-20 Georgia Tech and 13-18 Notre Dame.

Following Selection Sunday, Wade told 247 Sports that he is “shocked about going to Dayton, but we did it to ourselves” despite his squad dropping seven of their last nine games going into the tournament.

NC State head coach Will Wade following Selection Sunday: "I'm shocked about going to Dayton but we did it to ourselves. I told the guys there's no victims in the room. If we didn't want to be in Dayton, we should have beat Stanford or Notre Dame."

Tip-off for tonight’s First Four matchup between the Wolfpack and Longhorns is at 9:15 pm on truTV.
