The Tennessee Titans decided to cut their losses.
Treylon Burks got hurt over the summer, and even though he was a former first-round pick, the Titans decided they had had enough.
That set up Burks for his latest move, joining the Washington Commanders.
And in the stretch run of the season, Burks has looked like a legitimate player with an NFL future.
It might not age too well for the Titans.

Why did the Titans cut Treylon Burks?
Injuries and ineffectiveness ended Burks' time in Tennessee.
He fractured his collarbone in the summer.
Burks was the No. 18 overall pick in 2022 out of Arkansas.
He had 33 catches as a rookie in 11 games, for 444 yards.
He again played 11 games in 2023, this time grabbing just 16 passes for 221 yards.
Injuries limited him to just five games in 2024, and four total catches.
And another injury was his final undoing, and since this was set to be the final year of his Titans contract, Tennessee let him go.
Washington appears to be the beneficiary.
