Why Ted Lasso introducing Justin Bieber summed up absurdity of World Cup halftime show

The World Cup halftime show had everything.

Why not also have Ted Lasso introduce Justin Bieber with a 'Beliebe' sign?

Yeah, it really did have everything.

Ted Lasso, the fictional soccer coach played by Jason Sudeikis, took the microphone and called over Bieber as if he was about to sub him into a game.

The coach gave the pop superstar a pep talk, and then Bieber showed off his vocal abilities.

Why did Ted Lasso introduce Justin Bieber?

Somehow, because it captured the whole scene perfectly.

This halftime show had the Muppets show up. It had Madonna, and Shakira, and BTS.

The game was played in New Jersey, and there certainly were lots of American soccer fans watching. Ted Lasso captured a lot of the quirks of folks from the United States first learning the game of football.

In that show, Lasso uses a "BELIEVE" sign in the locker room to motivate his players.

Here, with the play on Bieber's last name and a fun little moment, it captured the fun of the show perfectly.
