Why Taylor Swift's godson was absent from Travis Kelce wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in front of 1,000 friends, family members, and celebrities. While guests have been slowly sharing their experiences of the wedding, fans quickly noticed that the mother of one of her godsons, Jaime King, hadn't spoken out until now.

King and her 10-year-old son Leo Thames did not attend the ceremony last week and shared why she decided not to.

“The reason Jaime chose Taylor as Leo Thames’s godmother is because they both believe that being a godmother is a deeply personal and spiritual commitment that has nothing to do with public appearances,” King's publicist told Page Six.

King's publicist added that Leo is"still too young for a large adult wedding celebration.”

However, Leo and his mother will be celebrating Swift and Kelce's marriage "in his own very special, age-appropriate way during his summer break," the publicist adds.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds missing from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding

Leo was not the only godchild of the pop singer that was absent from Swift and Kelce's wedding. The "Ophelia" singer is also the godmother of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' four children: James (11), Inez (9), Betty (6), and Olin (3).

Lively and Swift have reportedly hit a rift in their friendship following the lawsuit regarding It Ends With Us, where the actress was served a subpoena by Justin Baldoni's lawyers. The Gossip Girl alum sued Baldoni, who was also cast as the male lead and directed the film, for alleged sexual harassment and for allegedly orchestrating a PR smear campaign against her.

Prior to Swift and Kelce's wedding, Lively and Reynolds were spotted in upstate New York, just hours away from the lavish ceremony. It's unclear if they were simply not invited or decided not to attend.
