The 2026 World Cup is heating up, with games only growing in stakes.

As the quarterfinals arrive, just eight teams are still alive in the quest for the trophy, with France, Spain and Argentina remaining the favorites to finish the job.

Fox will remain the English broadcaster for the massive World Cup quarterfinal matches, beginning with France vs. Morocco on Thursday.

Here's a look at Fox's announcers for each World Cup quarterfinal matchup.

World Cup quarterfinal announcers

John Strong and Stu Holden

John Strong is the leading voice of MLS games on Fox; he has also appeared on NBC and ESPN. 

The analyst alongside Strong is Stu Holden, a former Scottish former midfielder. He played soccer in college for the Clemson Tigers before spending most of his career with the Houston Dynamo of the MLS. 

Strong and Holden are set to broadcast multiple quarterfinal matchups at the 2026 World Cup.

Darren Fletcher and Owen Hargreaves 

Darren Fletcher, the former Scottish soccer player and coach, is another play-by-play voice for Fox Sports who also actively coaches the Manchester United U18 team. 

Owen Hargreaves, his analyst partner, is a Canadian former midfielder. He spent over a decade between Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Manchester City. 

Ian Darke and Landon Donovan

The final broadcasting team for the 2026 World Cup quarterfinals is led by Ian Darke, who currently works for ESPN as a broadcaster covering all things soccer. He also commentates boxing. 

His partner, analyst Landon Donovan, is a former USMNT player — Donovan is tied for the record of most international goals in program history. Since retirement, he has served as an analyst and coached in the USL and NWSL.
