Why Seahawks fans outnumber Patriots fans at Levi's Stadium in Super Bowl LX

1 hour ago 2

One thing is for certain during Super Bowl LX: the Seattle Seahawks' fans have come out in full force.

Even before kickoff, Seattle's fans were louder, and so much so that it sounds like a home game for the Seahawks.

This was expected to be the case ahead of kickoff, as multiple reporters revealed there appeared to be a lot more Seahawks fans than Patriots fans.

"An hour from kickoff I would confidently estimate there to be majority Seahawks fans here," CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reported.

"Don’t recall a team having crowd edge in Super Bowl, but today that be the case. A lot of Seahawks 12 jerseys." Vic Tafur of The Athletic said.

"Crowd seems about 70/30 Seahawks. Conservatively," Athlon Sports' Doug Farrar noted.

There is a very simple explanation for why that is the case.

Why Seahawks fans outnumber Patriots fans

The most logical explanation is the location of the Super Bowl.

Levi's Stadium is located in Santa Clara, California, which is on the same coast as Seattle, where the Seahawks play their home games.

Meanwhile, Patriots fans who are attending the Super Bowl had to travel across the entire country to get there, which no doubt hurt the odds of New England's fans showing up in bigger numbers.

The good news for the Patriots is that they've thrived in road games this season, with New England sporting an 9-0 mark, including playoffs.

If any team can overcome a hostile environment, it's the Patriots.
