Why OG Anunoby fans falsely believe Suni Lee asked him out on a date

Some New York Knicks fans are convinced that Suni Lee asked OG  Anunoby on a date after his game-winning shot. However, those fans are going to be heartbroken, as the viral post is untrue.

Lee and Anunoby went viral after a parody account, NBA Cental -- not to be confused with NBA Central -- created what it looked like to be a comment on the Knicks star's Instagram post.

"Great win!!! You free tomorrow, OG?" the fake post read.

Fans in the comment section were convinced that Lee's comment was real.

"OG out here playing 2k in real life," one fan wrote on X.

"We seen how he plays when she’s at the garden 😂😂don’t get my boy excited," another fan wrote, of the possibility of a Game 6 back at Madison Square Garden.

"OG got all the baddies thirsting on him," another fan reacted.

While that post was fake, Lee did comment on Anunoby's game-winning shot.

"insane," Lee wrote on X in reaction to the Knicks' video of his shot.

Fans have been shipping Anunoby and Lee for months, but neither has confirmed that they are actually dating. The Olympic gymnast has been to MSG to cheer Anunoby and the Knicks last season, and she spoke about her friendship with the NBA star.

"Honestly, it just started off as a joke, and I feel like social media kind of just, like, took it further than that," the Team USA star told Mirror U.S. Sports last year. "But yeah, we're just friends, and I'm really good friends with a bunch of the guys on the Knicks team, like [Karl-Anthony Towns], and then also I'm really close to [Towns' partner Jordyn Woods] as well, so it's cool to see them doing their thing. Honestly, I just enjoy watching basketball, which is why I went to most of the games."

The Knicks will be heading to San Antonio for Game 5 of the NBA Finals after securing the 3-1 lead over the San Antonio Spurs. They are one win away from bringing an NBA Championship back to New York.
