The Miami Marlins started the season on the right foot. They went 5-1 right out of the gate, but some fans would soon see some struggles that knocked them off their feet.
They don't have much of a problem being successful at home, holding a 23-16 record, but on the road is a different story. They have gone 11-19 outside of Miami, which has been a real killer.
So, while the team is looking to figure out its road woes, the front office is busy getting ready for the draft. They were awarded the No. 14 pick, which means they will have to have a few options in mind, just in case the player they want gets taken before Miami hits the clock.

Mock draft explores how Marlins might maximize lone early selection
The Marlins have really operated as a team that looks to take the best player available in the draft, no matter if they are a high school or college athlete.
Last year, they went with two college players, but the year before, they went with a prep outfielder. So, it's up in the air with who the team is eyeing closely.
However, The Athletic's Keith Law took a shot at predicting the first round selections, and in it, he sees the Marlins selecting Arkansas pitcher Hunter Dietz.
"The Marlins went heavy on college players with strong underlying data or characteristics last year, and I expect them to do the same again, especially since they don't have an extra pick until after the second round. Dietz's stuff grades out extremely well, although he has a medical flag from two prior arm surgeries."
Dietz is electric on the mound, but he does come with some concerns. He's had two arm surgeries, the first being in 2023 and the second being in 2024 after experiencing a setback from the first surgery.
However, he did not miss any time this season and led the club with his 131 strikeouts and held a 7-4 record.
