Josh Morrissey came to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan hoping for a big role with Team Canada in the chase for a gold medal.
Instead, though, the Winnipeg Jets defenseman keeps finding himself on the outside of the action.
Morrissey is scratched for a third consecutive game on Wednesday, this one the Olympic quarterfinal against Czechia.
He's joined on the scratch list by Sam Bennett, who sits for the first time, as Brad Marchand gets back into the lineup.

Why isn't Josh Morrissey playing today?
Morrissey is on the scratch list after being injured in Canada's opening game.
The first time they played Czechia, Morrissey left proceedings with an undisclosed injury. He was then scratched on Friday, Sunday and now Wednesday.
Morrissey has been participating in on-ice work with the Canadian team, so it doesn't seem he has a terrible ailment.
But the rhythm of the tournament has been such that Canada hasn't yet re-inserted him into the lineup.

Given that Morrissey was in for the opener, it seems he could still work his way back if he proves himself in upcoming workouts.
First, though, Canada will have to advance as he watches, otherwise there'd be no chance of getting into another game at this tournament.
