Find out why The Bear's Jeremy Allen White, two-time winner for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and a nominee yet again at the 2025 Emmys, missed the Sept. 14 show in Los Angeles.
How Bella Ramsey, Seth Rogen, Kathy Bates and More Are Making Emmys History
Alas, there will be no chef at the 2025 Emmys.
Well, of course there will be numerous people on hand for all food and beverage needs, but, more specifically, Jeremy Allen White will not be in attendance. And not because he's tired of the is-this-show-really-a-comedy discussion.
Rather, his reason for skipping the Emmys—and his potential third straight moment in the spotlight should he win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series yet again for The Bear—merits a four-star review. (Meanwhile, see every star that did make it to the Emmys red carpet.)
White's best friend is getting married and that's the big event he has chosen to attend, according to Variety. E! News has also reached out to the actor's rep for comment.
Regardless of whether the FX/Hulu series is more comedy or drama in your book, The Bear is a 21-time Emmy winner and scored 13 nominations this year, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nods for White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Jamie Lee Curtis and Olivia Colman.
Accepting his trophy last year, Allen said he loved his costars “so dearly” and he wanted them to be “in each other’s lives forever."

And, apparently, if any of them schedule their nuptials opposite a big awards show, he'll be RSVPing yes.
Ironically, while the 2025 nominations are from The Bear's mixed-review-receiving third season, season four—which dropped this summer—features a big wedding episode that proves pivotal for Carmy's relationship with Claire (Molly Gordon) and literally brings everyone together under a big table.
More recently Allen has been walking red carpets in support of the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring the 34-year-old actor as The Boss. Which admittedly has been a really big deal for the Brooklyn native.
“You’re playing a real person—never mind Bruce Springsteen—and I was really touched [after the trailer came out," White shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in June. "I had more texts than when I blacked out and won that Golden Globe [for The Bear]. I didn’t realize trailers were that big of a thing."
Still, he's delighted quite a few fans in his chef's whites and will be missed on Emmys night.
