The Atlanta Falcons have added to their quarterback room in NFL free agency.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Falcons are signing former Miami Dolphins signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa to a one-year deal.
"ESPN Sources: Former Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa plans to sign a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons," Schefter said.
Why Atlanta Falcons are signing Tua Tagovailoa
Atlanta's quarterback situation is in a tough spot, as Michael Penix Jr is coming off ACL surgery, and he hasn't done enough to prove he's the long-term answer for the Falcons
Tagovailoa is also coming off an awful year with the Miami Dolphins, which led to his release, but he is an experienced starter who should provide some competition to Penix.
Tagovailoa could be the starter for Atlanta, but even if he isn't, he'll put a ton of pressure on Penix in a make-or-break 2026 season for the Washington product.
