Taylor Rapp is crucial to the Buffalo Bills' chances of success this season.
Buffalo is counting on him as a starting safety, and he's likely to see a lot of tackle and pass-breakup opportunities all year long.
It's also hard to miss Rapp out there on the field.
He wears a helmet that looks bigger than all of his teammates' helmets.
It's actually just a cover, though.

Why is Taylor Rapp's helmet different than the rest of the Bills?
Taylor Rapp's helmet looks different because he is wearing a Guardian Cap.
It's a soft-shell cover that goes over the standard helmet. It's meant to reduce concussions and head injuries.
Rapp sustained a concussion early in the 2024 season when attempting to tackle Ravens superstar Derrick Henry. He also had a documented concussion in 2021 while playing with the Rams.

The Guardian Cap is a way for Rapp to try and preserve his chances of staying in the game for the Bills.
Guardian Caps were first allowed to be worn on NFL practice fields in 2020.
The first time players could wear Guardian Caps in games was 2024.
Rap has chosen to go with safety over style, and the Bills will definitely benefit from his continued presence on the back end of their defense.
