Why Anthony Edwards wears an orange wristband during every Timberwolves game

Anthony Edwards keeps his promises.

At the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, Edwards connected with a young fan, Luca.

Luca is a 6-year old Timberwolves fan who has leukemia. Edwards originally met Luca after he scored a career-high 53 points at a game in January when Luca was sitting courtside with a sign that read, "To do: 1. Beat Cancer 2. Be The Next MJ."

When they reunited at All-Star Weekend, Luca gifted Edwards an orange wristband.

Edwards made a promise: "OK, you know what Luca? I'll wear this for the rest of my career on my left arm band just for you."

Photos from the rest of the season show that Edwards has indeed worn the orange wristband in every game.

That's included the playoffs, where he's got the Timberwolves back to the Western Conference Finals.

The top-seeded Thunder are dominant opposition, and they could prove too much for Minnesota.

But Edwards has a huge supporter watching, and he's got the reminder on his wrist that some things are bigger than basketball.

Edwards, with his orange wristband representing little Luca, will surely do everything he can to make that Timberwolves fan and all the rest very proud.
