The San Francisco 49ers won't make their scheduled No. 27 overall pick in Thursday's NFL Draft first round.

They traded down with the Miami Dolphins shortly before their turn.

Instead of picking 27, the 49ers will pick 30 and add another asset.

Why did 49ers trade down?

The 49ers clearly didn't like who was on the board enough.

It was reported a few picks before the 27th spot that the 49ers were seeking a trade taker, and they found one.

Miami clearly recognized a player that fit their plans.

The 49ers' draft board must've been calm enough that they would gladly take that extra pick at No. 90 in return for moving down only three spots.
