It was Justin Gaethje who walked away on top on Saturday night. It was Gaethje who battered Paddy Pimblett over five brutal, bloody rounds. It earned him a unanimous-decision victory to claim the interim lightweight title in the UFC 324 main event Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
Dominating the judges' scorecards, Gaethje earned scores of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47, ending Paddy Pimblett's seven-fight winning streak in the UFC and securing interim championship gold for the second time in his career. At 37, the Colorado native is 6 years older than Pimblett, who is 31.
