Actor Will Smith and his company, Treyball Studios Management, Inc., face a new lawsuit for alleged sexual harassment.
According to media reports, violinist Brian King Joseph filed a complaint for Sexual Harassment against Will Smith on December 30 at the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles. Joseph, who had worked with Smith on his Based on a True Story tour, also accused the Oscar-winning actor of wrongful termination and retaliation.
Pop culture podcaster Perez Hilton discussed the lawsuit in the January 1 episode of his podcast. Before discussing the specifics, Hilton said that the new lawsuit would only fuel the already circulating rumors about the Gemini Man star's "proclivities."
"Rumors have swirled not just about Will Smith and his wife and their relationship but also about his proclivities for decades. And this new lawsuit is not going to help quiet them down," Hilton commented. Will Smith Sued by Tour Violinist Who Alleges Sexual Misconduct, Grooming, and Retaliation After Reporting Disturbing Hotel Room Incident Involving Sexual Messages, HIV Medication Belonging to Another Person, and Unauthorized Entry.
Perez Hilton further reported that Joseph accused Smith of “predatory behavior” and of deliberately “grooming and priming” him for “further sexual exploitation.” According to the podcaster, Will Smith had hired the violinist in late 2024 to perform with him in San Diego. The former America's Got Talent contestant was later invited to accompany the actor on his tour last year.
As per the lawsuit, Will Smith once told Joseph:
"You and I have such a special connection that I don't have with anyone else."Perez Hilton explained allegations against Will Smith
As narrated by Hilton, the musician cited an incident from March 2025 in the lawsuit. Joseph claimed that during a show in Las Vegas, his bag went missing, which contained his hotel room key. The bag was allegedly found by Smith's team hours later and was handed over to him. When the violinist reached his room, he found that someone had entered his room.
Perez Hilton reported:
"Later that night, Joseph returned to find that someone had unlawfully entered the room and left behind belongings, including wipes, a bottle of HIV medication with another individual's name, and a note that read, 'Brian, I'll be back no later 5:30, just us, heart [drawn on the note], Stone F,' which Joseph interpreted as a warning that an unknown individual would soon return to his room to engage in sexual acts with him."The musician reportedly spoke about this incident to hotel security and Smith's representatives. He also reported the matter on the non-emergency police line. Brian King Joseph was allegedly terminated from his job days after the incident. As per the complaint, the termination caused the musician to suffer from PTSD and economic loss. Joseph demanded a jury to determine the damages.
The podcaster also highlighted that the lawsuit against the Academy Award recipient came weeks after a complaint was filed against Smith's wife. On December 1, a former associate of the couple, Bilaal Salaam, filed a $3 million lawsuit against Jada Pinkett Smith for allegedly threatening him. While Perez Hilton did not give his opinion on the lawsuits, he said:
"I think it's too early in the game in both lawsuits for me to really have an opinion. I think both claims might be true, and both might not be true. I don't know. However, you know that expression, Where there's smoke, there's fire."As of now, Will Smith has not issued any statement regarding the aforementioned allegations.
