The 2026 NBA All-Star Game was made to feel like a big deal at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. To help with that vibe, the league brought in an R&B legend to sing the national anthem.
Singer, songwriter, and music producer Brandy was selected to sing the "Star-Spangled Banner" ahead of the All-Star Game. While she was born in Mississippi, she was raised in California. Her career got started early: she was signed as a backup singer for the first time at just 11 years old.
While she is most associated with the late 90s and early 2000s, Brandy released a studio album, "B7," in the summer of 2020 and a Christmas album, "Christmas with Brandy," in 2023.

Who is Brandy?
Brandy is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Brandy is her stage name and her legal first name. She was born in McComb, Mississippi and was raised in Carson, California. Brandy was born on February 11, 1979 and she is 47 years old.
She got her start singing as a backing vocalist for youth music groups. Her father, Willie Norwood, is a gospel singer. Brandy signed with Teaspoon Productions in 1990 and was a backup singer for the boy band Immature. Later, in 1993, she signed a contract with Atlanta Recording Corporation.
Her debut album "Brandy" was released in 1994, and had two U.S. Billboard Top 100 singles in "I Wanna Be Down" and "Baby." She got into acting in 1996 and was the lead in the hit UPN sitcom "Moesha" from 1996 to 2001.
Brandy is the older sister of entertainer Ray J, and Snoop Dogg claims that they are cousins, though that hasn't ever been confirmed.
