It has been a tough few years for the Chicago White Sox and their fanbase. They haven't had a winning record since the 2021 season, and that's not likely to change this season.
However, that does not mean this team will not be worth watching. They have some exciting young pieces like Colson Montgomery and Shane Smith, and they were more aggressive than they have been in years past over the winter.
All in all, this team is taking a step in the right direction, and that should be the whole goal of the 2026 season as well.

White Sox aim to prove 2025 was more than just a fluke improvement
The White Sox went from losing 121 games in 2024 to 102 in 2025. And while that is still a lot, that is an improvement.
And with what the club added over the offseason, specifically Munetaka Murakami, they have a group that has the talent to be much better than they were last year.
If they can continue to keep making strides each season, they will be in a pretty good spot when their prospects are ready to make some noise. So, the club's best-case scenario, according to Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly, is to simply improve.
"Frankly, if the two seasons after losing 121 games the white Sox look a year away from being a year away, that would actually speak well to the job that general manager Chris Getz is doing."
Getz took over for Rick Hahn late into the 2023 season and has done a fantastic job trying to turn this team around and build a new environment. While it may be another losing season for the club, it should not be too long until this team is one to talk about when going over potential division champions.
