The Chicago Cubs had the fifth-most runs scored this season in MLB. Emerging stars like Pete Crow-Armstrong burst onto the scene, and other players like Michael Busch and Seiya Suzuki put together quality offensive seasons.
On Wednesday, the National League finalists for the Silver Slugger award were announced, and the Cubs have three recipients with a chance at taking home the illustrious positional award.
Chicago Cubs' Silver Slugger Award finalists revealed.
First, let's start with second base. The Cubs' Nico Hoerner was named a Silver Slugger Award finalist for his middle-infield position. Hoerner isn't known for his power, but he has a strong hit tool and proved to be extremely valuable to the 2025 Cubs. He hit .297 this season with seven home runs, 61 RBIs, and an OPS+ of 114. He's battling with Ketel Marte and Brice Turang at second base.
The other two finalists should come as no surprise. Both Kyle Tucker and Pete Crow-Armstrong are finalists for the outfield.
In just his second full season, PCA was one of the breakout stars in MLB this season. He hit 31 home runs, drove in 95 runs, and had an OPS+ of 118. He may be in line for a large contract extension this offseason.
As for Kyle Tucker, he is still a finalist despite having a big slump in the middle of the season. Tucker won a Silver Slugger back in 2023. His numbers were far better that season in terms of total production, but over 136 games in 2025, he still smashed 22 homers, slugged .464, and had an impressive OPS+ of 143.
Now, for those who may have been snubbed on the Cubs. Both Seiya Suzuki and Michael Busch had stellar seasons, but did not cut in terms of being a Silver Slugger finalist. This is likely because they play the two positions in baseball that feature the best hitters in the sport. Suzuki had 32 home runs and drove in 103 runs. Busch hit 34 home runs and drove in 90 runs. Both had moster seasons, but did not quite crack the final award nominations.
