Denver Broncos 2024 draft bust gets a fresh start with another NFC team

It has been a roller-coaster 2025 season for second-year NFL running back Audric Estime.

He came to training camp with the Denver Broncos this summer looking to push for one of the top roles in the backfield, and ended up not even making the roster by the time the preseason ended. He had a fumbling issue as a rookie and there were rumblings of him having a negative attitude when he began dropping down the depth chart.

After being cut by the Broncos, Estime was scooped up by the Philadelphia Eagles and placed on their practice squad. Playing for the defending Super Bowl champions could have been good for the 22-year-old Estime as their tough, physical style suits him well.

But six weeks into the season, the Eagles had already seen enough

But with injuries the way they are in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints have found themselves in need of running back depth following a season-ending injury suffered by Kendre Miller in Week 7. On Tuesday, the Saints added Estime to their practice squad

In New Orleans, there could easily be an opportunity for Estime to get some work this season.

Alvin Kamara still dominates the running back touches there, but as he gets older, the team may want to give him more of a rest, especially down the stretch this season. Sixth-round pick Devin Neal and Velus Jones, who was just elevated from the practice squad and is more of a wide receiver, are the only other running backs on the roster.

Estime must look at this like it's his last chance in the league, cause it just might be. He's still young and fresh and brimming with potential, but he'll need to lock in, take direction well and show a positive attitude in New Orleans. If he does those things, he could easily get a gameday elevation or two, at the very least, before this season ends.
