How to complete the Dream in Flames side quest in Where Winds Meet

Once you complete Chapter 1: Heaven Has No Pier, you will need to travel back to the ruins of your village, Blissful Retreat. Head to the area as shown in the map below and you will spot Yi Dao's Thundercry Blade stuck on the ground.

Interact with this to start the Dream in Flames side quest in Where Winds Meet, where your character will become depressed over the lost of their home and loved ones which occured in Chapter 1 and will lie down and fall asleep, entering a dream.

Soar across the sea of clouds

You will come across memories of Uncle Jiang in your dreams. Keep following the path through the forest till you arrive at the mountains with Buddha Statue all around. Use the interact button to jump around and traverse the mountains.

Defeat the Mysterious Senior

Once you reach the footsteps of the mountains, look for wooden ramps. These will allow you to jump and easily reach the summit. Here, you will come face-to-face with the Mysterious Senior who will challenge you to a fight.

Do not panic, as you cannot win this boss fight. Simply keep deflecting his attacks for a while and the battle will end, allowing you to progress the Dream in Flames side quest in Where Winds Meet. Keep following him till you reach a field of reed, with the Blissful Retreat appearing on the horizon.

Go to the Blissful Retreat

Follow the path to go to your home, the village of Blissful Retreat. There is a boundary stone beside the road that you can activate. Once you reach the Blissful Retreat, you will find a familiar face, Uncle Zhou, Ruby's father and one of the victims of the Aureate Pavillion.

Yi Dao boss fight

The Yi Dao boss in Where Winds Meet is one of the most challenging enemies that you will fight. His Qi bar takes a while to deplete, and he can attack you quite swiftly. Make sure to select Ruby as your companion as she can revive you if you fall in battle.

Once you defeat Yi Dao, you will need to head back and talk with Uncle Zhou to continue the Dream in Flames side quest.

Help Zhou in placing the Wine Jar and talk with him again. A small cutscene will play, after which the Dream in Flames side quest in Where Winds Meet will conclude.
