Scream 7 is an upcoming American slasher film continuing the legacy of horror, of one of the most iconic Hollywood franchises. The movie is directed by Kevin Williamson and written by Guy Busick and Williamson, based on a story by James Vanderbilt and Busick.
The film follows directly from Scream VI (2023) and is the seventh installment of the Scream film series.
Scream 7 was filmed across multiple locations in Georgia, including Atlanta, Marietta, Douglasville, and Great Point Studios in Atlanta, from January to March 2025.
All filming locations of Scream 7 explored
The main filming for Scream 7 was mostly around Georgia, United States, where different spots in the city of Atlanta and its nearby places were utilized. On January 7, 2025, the camera got rolling for the first time for the production under the working title Scar Tissue and the team called it a wrap on March 12, 2025.
Most of the filming of Scream 7 took place in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. The city has turned into a production hotspot where various major Hollywood movies and TV series are made. Atlanta’s combination of city and residential areas provided the perfect settings for the events of the movie, which follows the franchise’s horror-in-the-real-world approach.
The production also shot several scenes at Great Point Studios Atlanta, a modern facility where they did the interiors and soundstage segments.
Besides the central filming area of Atlanta, the team working on Scream 7 flew their cameras to Marietta and Douglasville, and more shooting was done there. With its houses and small-town vibe, Marietta offered the film a down-to-earth, neighborhood-like feel that the early Scream episodes were known for.
Douglasville, a city that has been the choice of many other productions, provided various backgrounds that were instrumental in achieving the aesthetic of the movie’s atmospheric scenes.
The movie was originally slated to begin shooting in September 2024, though production was rescheduled due to changes in casting and logistics. Kevin Williamson's directorial debut for the film series saw the filming kick off in January 2025. The production wrapped up the main photography by mid-March and, therefore, was quite close to its scheduled plan.
