College baseball is back, and several of the nation's best teams will open their 2026 seasons against elite competition this weekend in the Shriners Children's College Showdown.
Arkansas, ranked No. 7 in the D1Baseball.com preseason poll, leads a field that also includes No. 10 TCU, No. 23 Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech in a three-day showcase at the home of the Texas Rangers.
The Razorbacks are the lone team in the field that reached the College World Series last year, their eighth trip to Omaha under coach Dave Van Horn, but only Texas Tech of this group missed out on the field of 64.
Plenty of individual talent will be on display, as well. TCU outfielder Sawyer Strosnider is MLB.com's No. 10 prospect for this year's draft, and his teammates OF Chase Brunson (No. 44) and RHP Tommy LaPour (No. 61) are also in the top 100 along with Arkansas RHP Gabe Gaeckle (No. 24), C Ryder Helfrick (No. 29), LHP Hunter Dietz (No. 38), RHP Carson Wiggins (No. 85) and Texas Tech OF Logan Hughes (No. 55).

The Shriners Children's College Showdown will once again be hosted by Globe Life Field, home of the Rangers.
The stadium, which seats around 40,000, opened in 2020.
