2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosts Mexico will welcome Portugal to Estadio Azteca for an international friendly on Saturday.

The iconic venue, also known as Estadio Banorte, will reopen in Mexico City after several years of extensive renovations for the Copa Mundial. As co-hosts of this summer's tournament, Team Mexico avoided the drama of qualifying, but has not taken the pitch together since the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July 2025.

Meanwhile, Portugal will be playing without global superpower Cristiano Ronaldo, as the 41-year-old is nursing a hamstring injury. Even without the legendary striker, Portugal is playing strong and has potential to be a true contender come summertime.
