It's a top-five matchup to kick off SEC gymnastics competition. No. 1 Florida hosts No. 4 Alabama in the second week of action.
The Gators, ranked first in the nation for the first time since 2021, posted a nation-best 197.725 in last week's quad-meet. Kayla DiCello made her return to Florida while transfer eMjae Frazier made her Florida debut. It was Selena Harris-Miranda with the best scores of the night, though, posting a 9.975 on beam and 9.950 on bars.
The Tide, against Clemson, posted a 197.475 for the best season-opening score in program history. Freshmen Azaraya Ra-Akbar and Jasmine Cawley impressed in their debuts, earning event titles on bars, vault and all-around.
