Shonda Rhimes showed up to the Bridgerton season 4 premiere in Paris in style—and with daughters Harper, Emerson and Beckett at her side, marking a rare appearance for her kids.

Dearest gentle reader, it isn’t every day Shonda Rhimes appears with her three daughters.
But the Paris premiere of Bridgerton season four on Jan. 14 appears to be the exception, with the executive producer having been joined by 22-year-old daughter Harper, 12-year-old Emerson and 11-year-old Beckett on the purple carpet.
For the occasion, Shonda donned a metallic pink dress and cape as she smiled proudly amid her daughters. To her right stood Harper, who wore a black dress which bore golden yellow embellishments. To Shonda’s left was Beckett, who wore a black dress with pink and green flowers, while Emerson sported a shimmering purple and silver dress.
While Harper has attended a red carpet with her mom before, the Bridgerton event marked Emerson and Beckett’s carpet debut.
And of course, also in attendance were series stars Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) and Yerin Ha (Sophie Baek), who are the stars of the show’s fourth installment.
And while fans may have grown accustomed to the show’s love story formula, Shonda is excited by the changes brought by season four, which premieres Jan. 29 on Netflix. After all, Benedict will have different social hurdles to overcome than his siblings did when he discovers the love of his life is a maid.

“Every season is different,” Shonda told Jennifer Hudson during a Jan. 6 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “But this season has this beautiful quality of upstairs-downstairs. We get to see what happens on the other side of the house with the staff. But also the love story is an upstairs-downstairs love story, and I think that’s really good.”
As for Luke and Yerin, the Grey’s Anatomy creator promised their portrayal of Benedict and Sophie knocks it out of the park.
“Their chemistry is amazing,” she added. “Amazing.”

She also revealed that while making the final edits, Shonda was overcome in a way she hadn’t been with the earlier installments.
“This is the first season I cried,” she said. “It’s emotional. And it’s romantic and it feels good.”
While fans will have to wait until Jan. 29 to see Benedict and Sophie’s love story unfold on screens, Netflix has shared some behind the scenes photos from filming. Read on for more.
