After a thrilling first round of the WNBA Playoffs, only four teams remain in contention for a title. The No. 4 Dream and No. 8 Liberty will battle it out in the semifinals starting Sunday.
For the first time in a decade, Atlanta has won a playoff series. The Dream defeated the Mystics with two dominant performances, racking up a nearly 20-point margin in each first-round matchup this week. Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Jordin Canada and Angel Reese put up monster numbers in the sweep — can they keep that momentum going?
Meanwhile, the Liberty made history in the first round, becoming to first No. 8 seed ever to eliminate a No. 1 seed. New York did it dominantly too, sweeping Napheesa Collier and the Lynx in just two games. The Liberty's core is peaking at the perfect time, with Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones working together like a well-oiled machine.
