He spends plenty of time at Levi Stadium as the quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, but where does Brock Purdy live when he’s off the field? The football player was born and raised in Queen Creek, Arizona, and played football at Perry High School in nearby Gilbert. While Purdy left Arizona in 2018 to play at Iowa State University, he’s still fond of his home state. “I love the state of Arizona and everyone that’s been a part of my life,” he told reporters ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl. “And obviously, I’m trying to represent them as best as I can for as long as my career goes.”
At Iowa State, Purdy was a three-time All-Big 12 quarterback and was the winningest quarterback in the school’s history. The University’s Midwest environment suited Purdy. “My favorite part is the people, just because of how down-to-earth and real everyone is,” he told the Iowa Stater in 2024. “Everyone wants to help each other out. There’s no selfishness. I don’t know what it is about the culture in Iowa, but everybody just loves one another authentically. And when you go back, you feel that every time.” Purdy also met his future wife, Jenna, his freshman year at Iowa State. The couple got engaged in 2023 and tied the knot back in Iowa in 2024.
In 2022, the San Francisco 49ers selected Purdy as the final pick of the NFL Draft. This pick typically earns the harsh nickname Mr. Irrelevant, but Purdy quickly proved the moniker wrong, becoming starting quarterback in his rookie season. Now in his fifth season with the 49ers, Purdy is also building a successful life off the field. Read on to learn about Brock Purdy’s homes over the years.
Shared California house

Teammates—and onetime roommates—Alfredo Gutierrez, Nick Zakelj, and Purdy in the locker room in 2022
At the beginning of his NFL career, Purdy lived more like a recent college grad than a pro football player. During his rookie year, Purdy shared a house with offensive linemen Alfredo Gutierrez and Nick Zakelj. The trio even gave out a Christmas card from the household to teammates. In an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Gutierrez revealed that Purdy did the most cooking out of the three and that they spent downtime watching football, movies, and playing Mario Super Slugger.
By 2023, Purdy had only one roommate: Zakelj. “So he and I are still splitting rent,” Purdy told the TODAY Show. “I still drive my Toyota Sequoia. Other than that, it’s pretty simple.”
